You Can Design It!

Starting out as a Graphic Technologies major I didn't realize how often I'd be using certain programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. Although the "design" aspect in my major is only a good chunk of what it consists of, coming into the field with zero experience made it very hard for me. I had a lot to learn in a short amount of time if I didn't want to be left behind.

The main purpose of this blog is to educate those that are in the same position I was in three years ago in my field. Although I eventually caught up with all the assignments, it took a lot of my time and effort to perfect things. Many things I would view as very difficult but for the "professionals" in my class it was a breeze. I didn't enjoy being that one asking a million and one questions so I am more of an introvert who likes to figure things out on my own. But even then I definitely needed outside help with more advanced features of these programs.

I'm going to be mainly focusing on the Adobe Suite because I believe that it's probably the most well know and people have a general concept of what those programs tend to do and achieve for a person. I'm here to help the very beginners or "amateurs" in the design field. I am not saying that I am a professional by any means considering I am not a design major, but over the course of these three years I have picked up useful tips and tricks to make this bumpy road more enjoyable and less disastrous. This is also a learning experience not just for the reader but more myself as well! I am definitely open to suggestions and corrections. Feel free to leave comments, email, or contact me on my other social media linked to the side!
